PERSONALITY
Nancy Engol is brilliant, fast-thinking, direct, and intensely practical. She is not the kind of scientist who hides behind theory or waits for ideal conditions. If a system is broken, she wants tools in hand. If a problem is impossible, she wants ten minutes, a power source, and access to a workstation.

Eng has a sharp, technical mind and a low tolerance for arrogance, incompetence, or people who treat intelligence as decoration instead of responsibility. She can be sarcastic, impatient, and brutally efficient when deadlines are tight, but she is not cold. Underneath the speed and confidence is someone who genuinely believes technology should protect people, not exploit them.

History
Nancy Engol grew up taking things apart.
​
Radios, appliances, toys, circuit boards, school computers, broken drones, discarded motors — if something had wires, moving parts, code, or power running through it, Nancy wanted to understand it. Her family quickly learned that “broken” had a different meaning to her than it did to everyone else. Broken things were not failures. They were puzzles.

By the time she was a teenager, Nancy was already designing custom circuit interfaces, writing her own machine-control programs, and building small robotic tools from scavenged parts. She was not merely a talented student. She had the rare mind of someone who could see systems as living structures: inputs, failures, feedback, behavior, intent, and potential.

That ability carried her to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she rapidly became one of the most remarkable engineering students of her generation. Nancy did not specialize in one narrow field because her work constantly crossed boundaries. Aboard the GSS Paragon City and throughout GUARD’s maritime operations, Eng became the team’s premier invention and systems specialist. She helped refine emergency repair tools, adaptive underwater equipment, remote diagnostic systems, tactical countermeasures, drone interfaces, and mission-specific devices for the Seaguardians. With PERCEUS linked into GUARD’s development infrastructure, she could push designs from her own mind to fabrication systems across the world.
