Don "Major Deej" Finger
Don “Major Deej” Finger was born and raised in California, where a love of superhero comics, adventure, and storytelling first took hold at an early age. Inspired by the creativity, heroism, and far-reaching worlds found in comics, he began creating his own characters in the 1970s, laying the early foundations for what would eventually become the Major Deej Universe.

As a young man, Don was active in academics, community organizations, and the Civil Air Patrol, where he earned his student pilot’s license and developed a lasting passion for aviation, service, and leadership. During the Cold War era, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served more than 20 years in the Submarine Service, traveling the world while also earning a degree in Workforce Education. He remained active in the Civil Air Patrol as well, training cadets and adult members in Emergency Services, Search and Rescue, communications, and drill competition, eventually retiring with the rank of Major — the inspiration behind the name “Major Deej.”

Over the years, Don continued to expand and modernize his original characters and stories, drawing not only from imagination, but from real-world experience, travel, military service, training, and family life. While raising his two sons, he shared with them a love of comics and hero stories, and their ideas and enthusiasm became part of the creative energy that helped shape the growing universe. In the early 2000s, new gaming tools allowed him to begin visually building his characters and sending them on virtual adventures, opening the door to a major expansion of the Major Deej Universe.

Today, Don lives in New England with his wife and works as a Corporate Training Manager. He continues to develop the Major Deej Universe as a long-running original superhero setting built on heroism, imagination, worldbuilding, and adventure.

ABOUT THE MAJOR DEEJ UNIVERSE
The Major Deej Universe (MDU) is the original creative work of the site’s publisher, creator, and designer, Don “Major Deej” Finger. Although the MDU was formally established on December 10, 2004, many of its characters, teams, and concepts trace their origins back to ideas Don first began creating in the 1970s.
​
Over the decades, the characters and groups featured throughout these pages have been refined, reimagined, updated, and expanded through artwork, storytelling, role-playing games, digital gaming, and original comic development. What began as youthful imagination grew over time into a broad and evolving universe of heroes, teams, conflicts, and adventures. Today, that creative journey continues under the Major Deej Comics name.

At its heart, the Major Deej Universe is about more than superhuman powers and battles. Its stories reflect heroism, sacrifice, relationships, choices, responsibility, growth, perseverance, and the many challenges and wonders of life. These characters are meant to entertain, but also to represent the heart, struggle, and spirit that define meaningful storytelling.

The MDU is a true labor of love, built over many years through imagination, dedication, and the encouragement of family, friends, and creative influences that helped inspire a lifelong passion for comics and heroic fiction. It is not an effort to imitate, but to create something original, personal, and enduring.

The Major Deej Universe, also known as the MDU, is an original, creator-owned superhero and adventure universe developed by Don Finger. The MDU includes original characters, teams, stories, settings, artwork, logos, music concepts, and creative worldbuilding presented through Major Deej Universe, Major Deej Comics, and Major Deej Studios.

Major Deej Comics focuses on the comic book, character, story, and visual narrative side of the MDU. Major Deej Studios supports the creative media side of the universe, including music concepts, theme ideas, promotional materials, and related creative presentations. Together, these areas exist as part of one connected creative universe.

The MDU website is operated as a non-profit creative project. Its purpose is to share, develop, showcase, and preserve original superhero, science fiction, adventure, and character-based storytelling.
