Esteban AKA El Scorpio I (Father, deceased)
Lorenzo Ramirez AKA Carlos Sanchez AKA Crimemaster (godfather)
History
Miguel was born on November 1, 1995, the son of Esteban, the man who would become known as El Scorpio (I). He was born into the strange moral world of Telexaca, Mexico, a city protected by criminals, shaped by blood pacts, and ruled from the shadows by the Talaxaca Cartel.

His father, Esteban, was Lorenzo Ramirez’s trusted Number Two. Before becoming El Scorpio, Esteban had been known as Young Scorpion, a former Death’s Hand lieutenant who betrayed that brutal gang after the Night of Purple Death. Esteban saved Lorenzo’s life, helped destroy Death’s Hand, and became one of the founding pillars of the Talaxaca Cartel.

Miguel was born after that legacy had already begun.

He was still a small child when the Soltan Star Empire invaded Earth in 2000. During the Soltan occupation of Telexaca, Miguel and his mother were away from the city for a medical visit. His mother was killed during the invasion, but Miguel survived after being protected by an elderly couple. Esteban recovered his son, and Lorenzo Ramirez swore to protect Miguel with his life.

After the invasion, Lorenzo became Miguel’s godfather in every meaningful sense. To Lorenzo, Miguel was not merely the son of his closest friend. He was the future of the Talaxaca Cartel, the boy who might one day inherit what Lorenzo and Esteban had built.

Miguel grew up with every advantage the cartel could provide. He received private schooling, tutors, cultural education, financial instruction, weapons training, martial arts instruction, stealth training, and practical exposure to cartel operations. He was raised in wealth, but not allowed to become soft. Esteban expected discipline. Lorenzo expected intelligence. Miguel was trained to understand both the street and the boardroom.

By the mid-2000s, Telexaca had been rebuilt after the Soltan Invasion. Esteban and Lorenzo were honored as heroes for defending the city, compensating families, and funding reconstruction. Miguel grew up surrounded by statues, stories, warnings, and contradictions. His father was a criminal, but also a savior. Lorenzo was a cartel lord, but also the man Telexaca remembered as its defender.

Miguel understood early that power was never simple.

In 2010, the Talaxaca Cartel became too large for rival criminal powers to tolerate. The Aegis Alliance, working with other criminal factions, attempted to absorb or destroy the cartel. Lorenzo refused submission, and the Talaxaca Cartel War began.

Miguel wanted to fight. Esteban and Lorenzo refused to let him die in a war the cartel might not survive. Miguel was sent to Los Angeles for safety while Esteban remained in Telexaca to lead the defense. As the war collapsed around them, Esteban ensured Lorenzo escaped to Los Angeles with surviving lieutenants and cartel families.

El Scorpio (I) stayed behind.

Esteban died in Telexaca during the war, killed by the direct impact of a grenade launcher round while defending the ruined city.
Miguel survived because others had protected him.

That survival became one of his deepest wounds.

The Talaxaca Cartel was shattered. Telexaca was bombed, broken, and left full of bodies. Lorenzo escaped, but the old cartel was effectively dead. The Aegis coalition believed it had won.

Then the coalition discovered it could not run what it had taken.

Profits collapsed. Smuggling routes failed. Contacts disappeared. Gangs turned on each other. The region became chaotic and nearly worthless. The coalition had destroyed Lorenzo’s empire, but it did not understand how to operate it.

Eventually, the Aegis coalition requested a truce and reorganization meeting in ruined Telexaca. Miguel demanded to accompany Lorenzo. Lorenzo agreed.

Before the meeting, Lorenzo named Miguel his new Number Two.

Miguel inherited his father’s title, position, and identity.

He became El Scorpio (II).

The meeting became the birth of Crimewave. With the help of Seth Jenkins and Shady Logistics, Lorenzo forced the coalition into the Talaxaca Accord, ending the war on his terms. Lorenzo Ramirez would be considered dead. The old cartel would be replaced by Crimewave. Carlos Sanchez would become the public identity. Crimemaster would become the criminal crown.

Then Lorenzo asked who was responsible for Esteban’s death.

The answer was Adrian Anderson, one of the coalition lieutenants present at the table.

Lorenzo gave Miguel the choice: avenge his father or allow Crimemaster to do it for him.

Miguel chose vengeance.

He launched himself across the table, seized weapons from Shady Logistics’ confiscated bag, and killed Anderson in a furious, brutal display of grief and loyalty. He then reassembled Anderson’s own handguns and emptied them into the man who had been named responsible for El Scorpio (I)’s death.

Covered in blood, Miguel swore allegiance to Crimemaster and Crimewave in his father’s name.

He kept Anderson’s handguns.

He still uses them.

From that moment forward, Miguel was no longer simply Esteban’s son. He was El Scorpio (II), the living blood debt of Crimewave.

Today, Miguel remains Crimemaster’s Number Two. To the outside world, he is Crimemaster’s favored lieutenant, enforcer, heir, and adopted son in everything but name. To Crimemaster, Miguel is the son Lorenzo never allowed himself to have.

Miguel is wealthy, educated, stylish, and dangerous. He owns estates and villas, but he prefers to remain hands-on. He drives himself when he chooses. He surrounds himself with gunfighters and bodyguards when necessary. He still tests his burglary and infiltration skills for sport, not because he needs the money, but because he refuses to become dependent on comfort.

He is generous to Telexaca’s people and ensures that no one loyal to the city goes hungry or unprotected. Yet he remains a villain: calculating, vengeful, violent when required, and fully committed to Crimewave’s criminal empire.

Miguel and Crimemaster do not always agree. Miguel is more openly vengeful, especially toward the Aegis Alliance. Crimemaster is colder, more strategic, and more patient. Where Miguel wants blood, Crimemaster often wants leverage first.

Still, Miguel’s loyalty has never broken.

Crimemaster built Crimewave from survival, deception, and discipline.

Miguel carries its grief, vengeance, and inheritance.

He is the second Scorpion of Telexaca — the son of the fallen savior, the heir of the criminal king, and the man who will one day decide whether Crimewave remains an empire of order or becomes the revenge engine he has always wanted it to be.

Info
Esteban never knew his parents. He grew up as an abandoned child in and around Telexaca, Mexico, surviving among thieves, street gangs, knife fighters, and young criminals. By the age of ten, he had already become a skilled fighter, runner, thief, and survivor.

In those early years, Esteban crossed paths with another dangerous street child: Lorenzo Ramirez, the young leader of the rising Purple Gang. Lorenzo was ruthless, disciplined, and already showing signs of the criminal genius he would later become. Esteban first earned Lorenzo’s respect when several of Esteban’s own associates tried to surround and kill Lorenzo unfairly. Esteban intervened, insisting that Lorenzo either be given a knife to defend himself or that the fight be made one-on-one. Lorenzo was given a knife, fought his way free, and saluted Esteban for the rare show of street honor.

That moment saved Esteban’s future.

As the Purple Gang grew, Esteban joined Telexaca’s dominant gang, Death’s Hand, where he became known as Young Scorpion. He quickly rose to lieutenant status through theft, combat skill, and nerve. Yet Esteban never fully embraced Death’s Hand’s love of terror. He was a criminal, but he had a code. Death’s Hand did not.

In 1990, Death’s Hand launched the massacre later remembered as the Night of Purple Death. Half of the Purple Gang was slaughtered, and bodies were left hanging from telephone and light poles throughout Telexaca as warnings. Lorenzo Ramirez was among those left to die.

Esteban found Lorenzo mutilated, bleeding, and barely alive. Disgusted by Death’s Hand’s cruelty, Esteban betrayed them. He cut Lorenzo down, along with two other barely living Purple Gang members, and carried them to a Doctors Without Borders medical station under U.N. protection. Only Lorenzo survived surgery.

When Death’s Hand tracked Lorenzo to the medical compound, the gang prepared to slaughter everyone inside. Esteban stood against them. Then Telexaca answered. Townspeople, U.N. troops, surviving Purple Gang members, and outlying gangs rose together and destroyed Death’s Hand in a brutal fight. During the battle, Esteban killed the man publicly operating as Ruis Lanzana, the leader of Death’s Hand. Later records would make the identity of Ruis Lanzana uncertain, leaving open whether Esteban killed the true Ruis, a false Ruis, or one piece of a deeper deception.

After the battle, the people of Telexaca gave Lorenzo and the surviving gangs a choice: the gangs could operate from the region, but the city itself would be left alone. No more terror. No more theft from ordinary citizens. No more gang warfare in the streets. Lorenzo accepted.
Esteban agreed with the city’s demand.

Lorenzo then asked Esteban to become his Number Two, the man who would help ensure that Telexaca never again fell into the kind of terror Death’s Hand had unleashed. Esteban accepted and became El Scorpio.

From that agreement came the Talaxaca Cartel. Telexaca remained the city’s public name, while Talaxaca became the symbolic criminal name attached to the pact, cartel, and later underworld legacy. Under Lorenzo and El Scorpio, the Talaxaca Cartel became powerful, disciplined, and feared. It was criminal, but not chaotic. It stole, smuggled, fought, and killed when necessary, but it also protected Telexaca’s ordinary citizens and punished anyone who brought criminal violence back into the city.

For the next decade, Esteban served as Lorenzo’s most trusted lieutenant. He was not as publicly celebrated as Lorenzo, but within the cartel he was respected as the stabilizing force beside the throne: tough but not needlessly cruel, fair but not weak, dangerous but not savage.

During this period, Esteban fell in love with a woman whose name he never revealed publicly. She gave birth to his son, Miguel, on November 1, 1995. Esteban was never happier.

Then Earth was invaded.

In 2000, the Soltan Star Empire occupied Telexaca with an infantry company of roughly 250 troops. The city’s police were killed quickly, and civilians were rounded up for forced labor, intimidation, and culling. El Scorpio knew every sewer, alley, cave, hidden weapons cache, and escape route in the region. Working with Lorenzo, he helped evacuate nearly 1,000 vulnerable citizens into mountain caves and hidden shelters beyond the strongest reach of Soltan sensors.

Miguel and his mother were outside Telexaca when the invasion struck. Miguel survived, protected by an elderly couple, but Esteban’s fiancée was killed. Lorenzo later swore to protect Miguel with his life, and after the invasion, he became Miguel’s godfather.

For months, the Talaxaca Cartel fought the Soltans through ambushes, traps, theft of alien weapons, sabotage, and guerrilla warfare. Eventually, Lorenzo, El Scorpio, the cartel, and the people of Telexaca brought down a Soltan vessel and destroyed the occupying company. The cost was horrific: approximately 832 citizens and cartel fighters died. But Telexaca survived, and the Soltans never returned.

By 2005, Telexaca had been rebuilt. Lorenzo and El Scorpio were honored as heroes for defending the city, funding reconstruction, and compensating families who had lost loved ones. Much of that money came from illegal black-market sales of salvaged Soltan technology. That contradiction defined Esteban’s world: criminal money used to rebuild a wounded city.

El Scorpio became director of Central American operations for the Talaxaca Cartel. He continued to raise Miguel with the best education, tutors, combat instructors, weapons training, and practical criminal instruction available. Miguel wanted to enter the family business, and Esteban allowed him to begin working his way upward properly.

In 2010, the Talaxaca Cartel became too powerful for rival criminal organizations to ignore. The Aegis Alliance, working with criminal partners including the Solano Family, CANIS black marketeers, the Gold Syndicate, and the vampire Crimson Gang, tried to absorb the cartel. Lorenzo refused. The Talaxaca Cartel War began on October 13, 2010.

As the war worsened, Esteban stayed in Telexaca to lead the defense. He made sure Lorenzo, Miguel, surviving lieutenants, and cartel families escaped to Los Angeles so the organization would have a future. Lorenzo hated being removed from the fight, but Esteban’s decision saved him.

El Scorpio remained behind.

He died in Telexaca in 2010, killed by the direct impact of a grenade launcher round while defending the ruined city. His death shattered Miguel and became one of the core blood debts behind the birth of El Scorpio (II) and Crimewave.

After Telexaca was rebuilt, Esteban was honored with statues, plaques, memorials, and public remembrance. To the people of Telexaca, he was not merely a criminal lieutenant. He was the Scorpion who saved Lorenzo, helped civilize the cartel, fought the Soltans, and died defending the city.
