HISTORY
Tomas Hale did not build his life around ideals. He built it around movement.
Long before he became the Global Weapons & Logistics Director of the Anti-Alien Army (A3), Hale appears to have operated in worlds where legality mattered less than delivery. The exact shape of his early career remains disputed, but most credible assessments place him somewhere inside the broad ecosystem of military procurement, crisis supply contracting, transport brokering, sanctions evasion, gray-market logistics, or covert matériel movement. However he began, Hale learned one defining lesson early: wars are not won by speeches or ideology alone. They are won by whoever can move resources farther, faster, and more reliably than the other side.
The Soltan invasion of 2000 changed the scale of his world permanently.
While millions saw only destruction, Hale saw something else in the aftermath: wreckage, abandoned arsenals, disorganized governments, emergency contracts, scattered military stockpiles, collapsed chain-of-custody systems, and above all, opportunity. The post-invasion world was full of damaged equipment, panicked redistribution, alien debris fields, surplus black markets, and frightened men willing to pay almost anything for tools, parts, and protection. Hale did not merely survive in that environment. He flourished in it.
Whether he joined the early Anti-Alien Army out of ideology, opportunism, or some hardening blend of both, Hale quickly became indispensable. A3 had no shortage of rage. What it lacked was durability. Angry men could march, shout, recruit, and kill—but they still needed fuel, radios, ammunition, armor plates, routes, generators, power packs, false crates, replacement barrels, hidden depots, and someone willing to figure out how to fit unstable alien hardware onto a rusting human truck without killing the operator before deployment.
That someone was Tomas Hale.
As A3 evolved from a sprawling post-invasion backlash into a fractured underground extremist network, Hale became the connective tissue that kept it from collapsing into isolated local gangs. He developed and protected supply corridors that linked regional branches across borders and oceans. He cultivated smugglers, corrupt port officials, forged-manifest specialists, arms brokers, scrap dealers, mercenary mechanics, counterfeit manufacturers, fuel thieves, salvage crews, and transport criminals willing to work for the right price or the right threat.
More importantly, Hale became one of the few people in A3 who understood how to move both conventional and alien-derived matériel.
Under his direction, A3 acquired and redistributed:
-
stolen military rifles and ammunition
-
armored vans and transport trucks
-
old tanks and armored carriers barely kept operational
-
hidden caches of explosives
-
salvaged Soltan energy weapons
-
cracked power cells and unstable alien batteries
-
partial shielding fragments
-
modified aircraft parts
-
black-market boat engines and dockside fuel reserves
-
counterfeit uniforms, identities, and crate manifests
-
replacement gear for cells too isolated to resupply themselves conventionally
Hale’s genius lies not in elegance, but in adaptation. He is willing to mix old diesel engines with alien power couplings, store weapons in agricultural shipments, conceal energy cells inside humanitarian freight, and route prohibited technology through forgotten corners of the world where oversight is weak and people disappear quietly. Much of what he provides is unreliable, dangerous, or badly understood. That does not concern him. If it arrives, fires, drives, or detonates, it has served its purpose.
The 2017 global legal crackdown on anti-alien violence made Hale even more important. As A3 lost public space, it became dependent on secrecy and sustained covert movement. Hale responded by making the organization harder to starve. Cells that should have withered instead remained armed. Regional commanders who should have run dry instead found crates waiting. Vehicles that should have been dead kept running just long enough. Salvaged alien weapons that should never have functioned again still found their way into ambushes, bombings, raids, and massacres.
This is why Marcus Vane values Tomas Hale so highly: Hale turns ideology into continuity.
If Vane gives A3 direction, and Kreel gives it lethal planning, Hale ensures the movement still has the tools to act tomorrow.
He is not a theorist. He is a supplier of violence.
