Street Gangs of L.A.
(LOS ANGELES)
In California's Los Angeles ("L.A."), there are a handful of street gangs that operate within the region. A street gang is a gang usually made up of children, teenagers and/or young adults not to exceed 50 gang members; more than 50 members constitutes its own entry under "Gangs".

The following is a list of known street gangs in the L.A. region of California in the MDU. These street gangs are not reflective, representative, nor associated to any existing or defunct gangs in the real world in any respective manner.
Blacktop Monarchs
Leader: Darius “High Crown” Cole

Number of Members: 44 active members

Location/Territory: Crenshaw, South Los Angeles boulevards, Leimert Park-adjacent streets, parking areas, car-show grounds, and community-event corridors.

Allies: Fastabs, Los Faroles, cooperative event organizers and independent car clubs

Brief Description:
The Blacktop Monarchs grew from an alliance of car clubs, mechanics, event organizers, and neighborhood security crews. Recognizable by black, burgundy, and gold clothing, polished lowriders, crown-shaped hood ornaments, and crowned-wheel emblems, they maintain a respected public image through car shows, memorial rides, youth programs, and community events. Behind that image, they control parking extortion, event access, customized-vehicle trafficking, counterfeit streetwear, private security, and underground automobile auctions.
Fastabs

Brief Description:
The Fastabs are an image-conscious gang composed largely of bodybuilders, personal trainers, nightclub security workers, mechanics, and performance-supplement dealers. Recognizable by fitted athletic clothing, mirrored sunglasses, customized gloves, and armored abdominal insignias, they use physical conditioning as both status and intimidation. Their rackets center on gym protection, counterfeit supplements, custom-car theft, nightclub security, underground strength contests, and control of high-profile fitness events.
Grapevine Gang

Location/Territory: Castaic, northern Los Angeles County, I-5 approaches to the Grapevine, truck stops, repair yards, mountain service roads, and isolated highway turnoffs.

Brief Description:
The Grapevine Gang are highway predators who monitor freight traffic, disabled vehicles, road closures, and drivers forced onto isolated alternate routes. Wearing weathered work jackets, reflective strips, trucker caps, and tire-tread grape emblems, they blend easily into roadside service operations. Their rackets include cargo theft, illegal towing, fuel sales, vehicle recovery scams, roadside extortion, and hiding stolen property throughout the mountainous northern approaches to Los Angeles.
Holly Hills Kilz Krew

Brief Description:
The Holly Hills Kilz Krew consists of failed entertainers, dismissed production workers, obsessive fans, club employees, and hillside squatters embittered by Hollywood’s promises of fame. Members wear distressed black clothing, faded premiere credentials, and broken-star insignias beneath crossed letter Ks. They specialize in celebrity surveillance, blackmail, stolen recordings, memorabilia theft, vacant-home burglary, and nightclub intimidation, making them dangerous because they frequently know secrets that powerful people believed were safely hidden.
K-Town Static

Brief Description:
K-Town Static are electronics specialists, DJs, repair workers, delivery drivers, and private-room security personnel who manipulate Los Angeles nightlife through information. Their black streetwear, fractured neon graphics, earpieces, and broken-antenna emblem reinforce their reputation for disabling cameras, radios, phones, alarms, and building networks. They profit from electronic surveillance, stolen devices, nightclub protection, communications interception, private gambling, and blackmail based on conversations recorded inside supposedly secure rooms.
La Brea Bones

Brief Description:
The La Brea Bones are urban scavengers obsessed with anything buried, abandoned, historically valuable, or supposedly cursed. Wearing black-and-amber work clothing, fossil jewelry, bone-white markings, and saber-toothed skull insignias, they search construction sites, demolished buildings, estate clearances, museum storage, tunnels, and private collections. Their rackets combine artifact trafficking, excavation theft, estate burglary, underground auctions, and the sale of convincing forgeries mixed among genuine—and occasionally dangerous—discoveries.
Los Faroles

Brief Description:
Los Faroles—“The Lanterns”—began as neighborhood lookouts who used porch lights, rooftop signals, car lamps, and handheld lanterns to warn residents of approaching danger. Members wear deep red and amber clothing with reflective trim and burning-streetlamp insignias. Although they still claim to protect local families, their operations now include protection fees, courier work, rooftop surveillance, illegal lotteries, smuggling through pedestrian routes, and recovering stolen property in exchange for payment.
Metro Phantoms
Leader: Isaiah “Last Stop” Mercer

Location/Territory: Downtown Los Angeles rail stations, underground corridors, maintenance passages, utility spaces, abandoned platforms, and commercial blocks surrounding major transit hubs.

Brief Description:
The Metro Phantoms treat Los Angeles’ transit system as a mobile underground territory. Wearing dark jackets marked with reflective route lines and pale tunnel-mask designs, they understand station layouts, surveillance gaps, service tunnels, ventilation routes, and forgotten infrastructure better than most transit employees. Their operations include covert transportation, fare fraud, infrastructure theft, underground gambling, information brokering, and guiding fugitives or contraband through routes that officially do not exist.
Second Unit
Leader: Calvin “Cutaway” Briggs

Location/Territory: Studio City, North Hollywood, Burbank-adjacent production zones, warehouse stages, backlot districts, prop facilities, and filming locations throughout Los Angeles.

Brief Description:
Second Unit is composed of former stunt workers, set builders, production assistants, prop technicians, costumers, and location personnel who learned to exploit the entertainment industry’s controlled confusion. Members wear dark crew shirts, utility belts, numbered production jackets, and split-clapperboard insignias. They use counterfeit credentials, wardrobe disguises, prop vehicles, staged accidents, and fake filming activity to conceal equipment theft, unauthorized access, impersonation schemes, and movements through otherwise restricted locations.
Venicites

Brief Description:
The Venicites are a chaotic coalition of bodybuilders, skateboarders, street performers, vendors, addicts, hustlers, and longtime beach residents. Their layered beachwear, body paint, tattoos, roller skates, and sunburst-V emblem reflect Venice’s eccentric identity. Loosely divided into overlapping crews, they control illegal vending, boardwalk protection, stolen bicycles, beach-party security, street-performance extortion, and small-scale narcotics sales. Their unpredictability makes them threatening, amusing, tragic, or unexpectedly protective depending on which faction is encountered.
