SPECIES

Soltan Scorpions are a native species to Solta Prime. The following is a list of the various species in their genus:

Red (Alpha )

Alpha Soltan Scorpions
Soltan Scorpion VI.jpg

This is a HIGHLY aggressive subspecies. The Reds/Alphas were once the dominant species on Solta Prime, however, they were hunted to near extinction by Solta's humanoid race thousands of years ago.  About a thousand years ago, the Soltan humanoids started using the few remaining Red Soltan Scorpions as aggressive 'shock troops', loosed upon the enemies of a once-powerful Soltan king. That king actually trained a Red Scorpion as his own pet.

Not long after that, Red Scorpions were used militarily to invade and conquer planets, however, due to the red subspecies high aggression, the population of these Soltan Scorpions was kept in check.

Today, only 2% of the known Soltan Scorpion population in the galaxy are Red Soltan Scorpions.

Drone Soltan Scorpions

Brown (DRONES)

Soltan Scorpion VI.jpg

This is a dangerous yet trainable subspecies. The Browns were once the drone species of the Red Soltan Scorpion subspecies on Solta Prime, however, they were hunted to near extinction by Solta's humanoid race thousands of years ago.  About a thousand years ago, the Soltan humanoids started using the few remaining Brown Soltan Scorpions as 'shock troops', loosed upon the enemies of a once-powerful Soltan king. Eventually, the browns became trainable and domesticated to a degree.

Browns are still wild creatures, but can be trained, using a thousand-year old training system still used today to training them to become guard dogs, perform basic tasks (burrowing, digging, farming, watering, fetching things, protecting a master's children, etc.) and of course for military use for invasions, conquests and weapons against their own personal enemies.

Today, 90+% of the known Soltan Scorpion population in the galaxy are Brown Soltan Scorpions.

Gamma Soltan Scorpions

Green (Gamma)

Soltan Scorpion VI.jpg

This is a scientifically modified subspecies of the Browns/Drones. The Greens were created 400 years ago in a Soltan science lab. They were mutated to store and emit gamma radiation its whole life and trained to be used as radiation weapons against enemy troops.  The Greens were trained to burrow underground, come up close, but not break, the ground underneath troop barracks or placements, and, depending, over time, would irradiate the enemy troops with gamma radiation, making them sick within radiation poisoning within hours and/or days.

These creatures are kept in special lead-lined cages away from others until they are needed. They are highly trained and most used in military operations have an explosive device implanted in them to ensure they don't escape and go rogue therein poisoning innocents with their radiation.

Today, only 8% of the known Soltan Scorpion population in the galaxy are Green Soltan Scorpions, with nearly all of them still under control and used by the Soltan Star Empire for invasions and conquests...and sometimes for personal conflicts.

History

History

Soltan Scorpions are a species that are tens of millions of years old. There were originally 10 sub species, but over the millions of years, only two remained when Soltan humanoids became the dominant species on Soltan (Prime). Over the centuries, the number of Soltan Scorpions diminished  as a result of their next-level dominance and inherent aggressive nature. Just when the species was about to become extinct, a Soltan 'king', over a thousand years ago, saw the use of the Soltan Scorpions as shock creatures to be used in warfare against the king's enemies. Not only were the Soltan Scorpions effective in being used as weapons, the Soltan humanoids learned how to control and train the Soltan Scorpions. Even today, the old ways of training a Soltan Scorpion is still the best way.

Over the last few hundreds of years, leaders started 'domesticating' Soltan Scorpions to act like guard dogs, performing very basic tasks (burrowing, digging, farming, watering, fetching things, protecting a master's children, etc.). The Drone sub-species eventually became the majority of the species' population (over 90+%), with only 2% Alphas and 8% of science-altered Drones imbedded with radioactive elements to act as radiation sourced weapons against their enemies, called Gammas (green).

Soltan Scorpions are still used as shock troops, infestation weapons, radioactive burrowers (that burrow under enemy troop installations and get the troops sick with radiation poisoning from the Gamma Soltan Scorpions) and as mentioned earlier, domesticated use. Soltan humanoids in positions of power are noted to have a Soltan Scorpion as a 'pet', while some of the more 'aggressive' Soltan humanoids use Red (Alpha) Soltan Scorpions (which are much harder to control and train, but when done, the creatures are indeed VERY deadly) at status symbols...and protectors.

There are hundreds of planets that still have Soltan Scorpion infestations in the hundreds to tens of thousands as a result of the Soltan Scorpions being used for military warfare in planetary invasions and conquests. After these invasions/conquests, the Soltan humanoids 'try' to collect up their uncaged Soltan Scorpions, but sometimes, the Soltan Scorpions either desire to escape or want to run off to give birth to their children in peace and away from other beings/creatures. As such, those infested planets now have an invasive, aggressive species added to their ecosystem. The invasive Soltan Scorpions have directly affect planetary ecosystem evolutions and structures negatively over the last few centuries even, in a couple of cases, where the Soltan Scorpions became the dominant species on older, ravaged Soltan-invaded/controlled planets, thus making those planets uninhabitable and any species left on those planets...hunted as prey and food for the dominant Soltan Scorpions left there.

Soltan Scorpions were used in the Soltan Star Empire's invasion of earth in 2000. Due to the Soltans retreating from Earth, whatever remaining living Soltan Scorpions alive at the time of the Soltan retreat are still being found, hunted, killed and/or captured and caged. At last check, in 2020, it is believed there are over 2000 reported Soltan Scorpions in custody worldwide with a few dozen Red, Drone and Gamma Soltan Scorpions still out and about hiding...and self-breeding...in the wilderness.

The Galactic Expatriates, a band of powerful and demagogic aliens stuck on Earth since the Soltan Invasion of 2000, have several dozen Soltan Scorpions in their ranks, one of which is a Red (Alpha) Soltan Scorpion that is trained to be the team leader's, Galaxon's, pet.

    • Soltan Scorpions can change the color of their outer hide to camouflage or blend into their environment, providing remarkable stealth capabilities.

  • Heightened Senses

    • Remarkable hearing, sight, taste and smell

    • Normal, night and low-yield thermal vision

  • Mannerisms

    • Most are trained and conditioned to take orders from Soltan troops.

    • Some, however, needed prompting with incredibly powerful magical collars.

    • Since most scorpions have been destroyed decades ago, any scorpions found today have either been extensively trained (like S39247-1) or have worked past their conditioning and are now savage killing machines.

    • They are fiercely loyal when they acknowledge a master, however, should the master beat on them or torture them too much, the Soltan Scorpions have a 10% chance to rebel against their masters either by leaving them forever (taking off into the distance), or attacking them and eating them.
