History
Great Grand-daughter of the WWII Hero, Captain Kingfisher, Dalia Nordstrom was born with her family's Avian species wings.
The family's estate in the Azores was taken from her drug-addled father by the authorities when they arrested him for his dark dealings criminals and drugs. He died in prison, leaving his wife and child to fend for themselves. Unwanted back at their Avian Island home, Dalia, her mother and a few other relatives decided to move to the United States.
Once in the United States, Dalia and her accompanying family had to sign up for the Superpowers Registration Act. They had little to start with, but using their Avian powers and wings, they were able to get well paying jobs in entertainment and movies.
Five years later, on the anniversary of them becoming US citizens, Dalia's U.S. Avian family had a grand picnic in Central Park in New York City's Manhattan district. There, however, her clan was almost completely slaughtered by racist thugs. Only three survived...one of which was a very pissed-off Dalia. She killed several of the racist thugs, causing her to be tried in court and convicted of manslaughter. Nonetheless to say, she was angry at the judicial and penal system, especially when the racist thug assailants got out of jail before her. So, she broke out of jail, hunted and killed each one of them.
Branded a vigilante with a warrant for her arrest, Dalia, now called by the media "Deathawk" has begun studying her family's old dark magic tomes, learning how to use the same dark magics that made her father become a sinister man. Dalia doesn't care. She wants instead for all life-threatening criminals to get their 'eye for an eye'. She considers the police hamstrung by politics and instead has taken on the duty of ridding the city of its criminal elements - but not through the legal systems. As such, she has joined forces with a band of vigilantes called "Knightshift".
Today, Deathawk continues her vigilante ways with Knightshift. Her family members are still free US citizens and are slowly working their way towards a middle class lifestyle (even in Manhattan!). Deathawk is still a wanted woman with at least ten warrants out for her arrest. Interestingly, the cops in the field, should they encounter Deathawk, instead warn her to flee before the SWAT and Super-powered Police teams arrive. Those police know she's making a difference and appreciate her for doing what she does.
Deathawk is a very angry young woman. She is confrontational, gets easily agitated and hates to leave a fight. She has a natural ferocity to her fighting skills and its only gotten more aggressive with the more dark magic she learns.

Recently, Deathawk was 'transported' away by a secret magical society to be placed in a 'magical tournament'. She didn't win, but she learned that there are many more magical people and beings out there than she knew. She even saw some of her fellow Avians in the crowds. She has no way to returning to this magical society (without their involvement), however, her interest in them has grown to a new obsession; an obsession that is having her study, research and do some detective work unlike anything she's ever done before. She hopes to one day return there...and show them what an angry Avian can really do in battle!
