RELATIONS:

  • Dr. Stefano Bintelli — Father, Deceased

    • A Greek-Italian neuropsychologist who conducted research into compulsive behavior, addiction, emotional conditioning, and decision-making. Stefano died under disputed circumstances after attempting to expose illegal applications of his research.

    • Azaria publicly claimed that his death was an accident. Evidence suggests she may have allowed the individuals responsible to escape in exchange for access to his stolen work.

  • Eleni Bintelli — Mother, Alive

    • A former classical-music instructor living under a protected identity in Greece. Eleni became estranged from Azaria after recognizing her daughter’s increasingly manipulative and abusive behavior.

    • Azaria periodically arranges financial support for her mother through intermediaries but refuses direct contact. Whether this represents guilt, possessiveness, or an unwillingness to be entirely rejected remains unclear.

  • Nikos Bintelli — Younger Brother, Alive

    • A financial-compliance investigator formerly employed by a European banking consortium. Nikos disappeared after beginning an investigation into accounts associated with Blackjacks casinos.

    • Blackjacks records classify him as a protected person rather than a prisoner or target. This unusual designation appears to have come directly from Aesa.

    • His present location is unknown.

CHARACTER SUMMARY

Aesa Hartz is a charismatic, vindictive manipulator who views affection as a weakness and intimacy as a method of control. She is most comfortable when another person’s emotions, reputation, and finances are entirely dependent upon her. Rather than overpowering victims physically, she dismantles their judgment and allows them to participate in their own destruction.

Aesa presents herself as elegant, playful, and socially fearless. She enjoys luxury, public attention, expensive fashion, private parties, and the discomfort she creates among committed couples. She has a habit of assigning playing-card identities to people around her, privately categorizing them as kings, queens, jacks, disposable number cards, or jokers. She becomes visibly irritated when someone she considers emotionally weak successfully resists her.

Her cruelty is rooted partly in contempt and partly in fear. Aesa believes that love, loyalty, and morality are stories people tell until sufficient pressure is applied. Each corrupted marriage, ruined career, or compromised official reinforces her belief that everyone can be controlled. Her estrangement from her mother and unresolved concern for her brother suggest that she is not entirely free of the attachments she mocks in others.

Within the Blackjacks, Aesa is ambitious but not yet disciplined enough to challenge Bruno directly. She desires his recognition because he remains one of the few men she cannot easily dominate. Her loyalty lasts as long as the organization continues giving her wealth, protection, status, and access to powerful targets—but beneath that loyalty is a continuing need to prove that no mind, heart, or relationship is beyond her reach.

History

The Bintelli Household

Azaria Bintelli was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, to Stefano and Eleni Bintelli. Her father was a respected neuropsychologist of Greek-Italian ancestry, while her mother taught music and language.

Stefano specialized in addictive behavior, compulsion, emotional reinforcement, and the ways fear or pleasure could override rational decision-making. His work initially focused on treating gambling addiction and destructive impulse disorders.

Azaria grew up surrounded by discussions of motive, behavior, and control.

She learned early that people rarely did what they claimed to want. They did what made them feel safe, admired, desired, or powerful.

As a child, Azaria was intelligent, charismatic, and unusually skilled at dividing people against one another. She could provoke arguments between classmates, convince teachers that others were responsible, and shift effortlessly between charm, vulnerability, and cruelty.

Her parents initially dismissed this as social intelligence.

By adolescence, it had become calculated manipulation.

Learning the Casino Floor

Stefano occasionally consulted for casinos attempting to identify compulsive gamblers and establish responsible-gaming programs. Azaria accompanied him to resort properties, conferences, and behavioral-research demonstrations.

She became fascinated by casinos—not because she enjoyed gambling, but because she recognized them as controlled emotional environments.

The lights, music, alcohol, artificial prestige, isolation from time, and illusion of imminent victory all encouraged people to abandon judgment.

Azaria began working as a hostess and promotional representative at private gaming events while attending university. She studied psychology, behavioral economics, and communications but never completed a degree.

Her real education came from observing wealthy gamblers.

She learned how quickly powerful men could be manipulated by praise, attention, competition, embarrassment, and sexual interest. She began targeting married businessmen and minor public officials, persuading them to gamble recklessly while collecting compromising photographs, messages, and financial records.

At first, she sold the information.

Later, she began keeping it.

Project Eros

Stefano’s research was eventually acquired by a private technology group developing neural-influence systems. The project combined directed psionic amplification, emotional entrainment, neuroelectric stimulation, and behavioral-conditioning software.

Stefano believed the technology would be used to treat addiction, trauma, and compulsive behavior.

Instead, investors sought military, interrogation, advertising, and political applications.

The resulting system—internally designated Project Eros—could not create genuine telepathy. It could, however, weaken resistance, amplify emotional impulses, implant commands, and align a target’s decision-making with the operator’s will.

When Stefano attempted to withdraw his research and expose the project, he died in what authorities described as a laboratory fire.

Azaria did not publicly challenge the finding.

Within months, several Project Eros components disappeared.

So did Azaria.

Becoming Aesa Hartz

Azaria spent the following years moving through private casinos, luxury resorts, criminal clubs, and illegal gambling rooms across southern and eastern Europe.

She reconstructed her father’s technology into three wearable devices:

  • A jeweled tiara

  • A pair of ornamental bracelets

  • A reinforced designer belt

Individually, each device generated limited mental influence. Operating together, they could impose much stronger control.

Azaria adopted the name Aesa Hartz, deliberately styled to resemble “Ace of Hearts.” The identity reflected both her preferred playing card and her method of attacking people through desire, affection, shame, and emotional dependence.

She initially used the devices to gain access to wealthy men, extract account information, obtain gifts, manipulate wagers, and force victims to sign over assets.

Her crimes became progressively more destructive.

The Hearts Pattern

Aesa developed a ritualized method of targeting wealthy or influential men.

She would first identify a subject with exploitable weaknesses: vanity, marital dissatisfaction, gambling addiction, political ambition, loneliness, or fear of aging. She then engineered a meeting at a casino, private party, charity event, or luxury hotel.

Using charm and low-level psi-tech influence, she encouraged the target to gamble beyond his normal limits. Once he had accumulated significant losses, she positioned herself as his emotional refuge.

The target might then be compelled to:

  • Continue gambling

  • Borrow against personal or corporate assets

  • Transfer money into Blackjacks-controlled accounts

  • Abandon professional obligations

  • Publicly humiliate a spouse or partner

  • Participate in an affair

  • Reveal confidential information

  • Commit fraud to cover losses

  • Sign compromising agreements

  • Record incriminating statements

Aesa often ensured that portions of the affair or breakdown appeared on social media, gossip sites, or private criminal networks.

The humiliation was intentional.

After stripping the victim of money, status, relationships, and credibility, she sometimes implanted a final command encouraging self-destruction.

Several victims died.

Others survived suicide attempts, resisted the command, or were interrupted by family members, heroes, physicians, or law enforcement. These survivors became the first people capable of describing the recurring woman, heart imagery, missing memories, and compulsive behavior associated with Aesa’s attacks.

International investigators refer to these incidents as the Hearts Pattern.

Recruitment by Blackjack Bruno

Aesa eventually targeted a financial intermediary connected to one of Blackjack Bruno’s casinos.

Her plan succeeded until Bruno’s surveillance teams identified unusual behavioral changes among several employees. Rather than immediately ordering her death, Bruno arranged a controlled meeting.

Aesa attempted to influence him.

Bruno had already been warned about her technology and attended through a body double equipped with neurological countermeasures.

The deception impressed her.

Bruno offered Aesa a choice: work for the Blackjacks or become the subject of an extended equipment-recovery operation.

She accepted employment.

Under Bruno, Aesa gained access to more profitable and influential targets than she could have reached independently. She became the Blackjacks’ leading specialist in emotional compromise, gambling coercion, seduction-based intelligence gathering, and psychological asset seizure.

Bruno formally designated her Ace of Hearts and placed her in command of the Hearts Division.

The Hearts Division

The Hearts Division is a specialized Blackjacks unit operating through casinos, resorts, private clubs, online platforms, escort networks, public-relations firms, and luxury-event companies.

Its personnel include:

  • Social infiltrators

  • Professional companions

  • Behavioral analysts

  • Gambling hosts

  • Blackmail specialists

  • Private investigators

  • Digital-media manipulators

  • Financial fraud experts

  • Reputation-destruction teams

The division targets people whose wealth, influence, or secrets are more valuable than their immediate deaths.

Aesa personally handles the highest-priority subjects, particularly politicians, financiers, corporate leaders, crime bosses, celebrities, and individuals whom Bruno wants disgraced rather than merely eliminated.

A Dangerous Lieutenant

Aesa is one of Bruno’s most valuable lieutenants and one of his least trusted.

Her equipment gives her influence over guards, employees, clients, and rival criminals. Bruno therefore restricts her access to certain command centers and maintains psionic countermeasures within his most secure properties.

Aesa is aware of these safeguards and treats them as part of an ongoing contest between them.

She has never openly attempted to overthrow Bruno. She recognizes that he possesses the organization, resources, and operational discipline she lacks.

She also finds him difficult to manipulate, which makes his approval unusually important to her.

Present-Day Activities

Aesa continues operating internationally from Blackjacks-controlled properties.

Her missions commonly involve:

  • Manipulating wealthy gamblers

  • Destroying political or corporate reputations

  • Recruiting compromised officials

  • Extracting financial credentials

  • Forcing targets into criminal partnerships

  • Breaking alliances or marriages

  • Planting false emotional loyalties

  • Turning trusted employees against employers

  • Acquiring leverage for Blackjack Bruno

  • Creating public scandals that conceal financial crimes

She presents herself as an independent socialite, casino investor, luxury-brand representative, entertainment promoter, or high-end companion depending on the assignment.

Most victims never learn that Aesa Hartz exists.

They believe they ruined their own lives.

Powers

Power Origin: Technological

Aesa Hartz possesses no innate superhuman or psionic powers.

All mind-control and psionic-attack abilities originate from her Project Eros equipment.

Without her tiara, bracelets, and belt, Aesa is a highly skilled but otherwise normal human.

BackToTopButton.png

Equipment

Project Eros Control Array

Aesa’s tiara, bracelets, and belt are independent psi-technological devices designed to synchronize with her neurological patterns.

Each device amplifies her intent and attempts to impose it upon the thoughts, emotions, and decision-making processes of nearby targets.

Individual Device Operation

One active component provides:

Good Mind Control

Examples include:

  • Encouraging trust

  • Amplifying attraction

  • Suppressing suspicion

  • Strengthening an existing temptation

  • Influencing simple choices

  • Creating a brief emotional fixation

  • Issuing uncomplicated commands

A single component is most effective when its commands align with something the target already desires or fears.

Two-Device Operation

Two active components provide:

Excellent Mind Control

Aesa may impose more direct behavioral instructions, including:

  • Continuing to gamble

  • Revealing private information

  • Following her to another location

  • Transferring limited funds

  • Temporarily betraying an ally

  • Ignoring obvious warning signs

  • Accepting a fabricated emotional relationship

Full-Array Operation

The tiara, bracelets, and belt operating together provide:

Remarkable Mind Control

The full array can impose complex commands, alter emotional loyalties, suppress resistance, and compel behavior fundamentally contrary to a target’s normal judgment.

Possible commands include:

  • Surrendering substantial assets

  • Abandoning relationships

  • Committing serious crimes

  • Attacking allies

  • Destroying evidence

  • Accepting false memories or emotional associations

  • Attempting self-destructive behavior

Commands involving suicide, murder of a loved one, or total rejection of a core identity should grant the victim an additional resistance attempt or bonus based on the campaign’s psionic rules.

Resistance

Targets resist using Psyche.

Strong emotional anchors, prior warning, psionic protection, mental training, or commands that directly violate deeply held beliefs may improve resistance.

Robots, most artificial intelligences, and beings without compatible organic nervous systems are normally immune.

Targeting Requirements

Aesa must be able to perceive the intended target directly or through a clear live audiovisual connection compatible with her equipment.

Direct eye contact is not always required, but it significantly improves precision.

A target who cannot see or hear Aesa is more difficult to control unless already conditioned.

Conditioning

Repeated successful influence allows Aesa to condition a victim.

Conditioned subjects may experience:

  • Recurring attraction to Aesa

  • Compulsive gambling urges

  • Anxiety when disobeying her

  • Emotional dependence

  • Memory gaps

  • Automatic responses to phrases, gestures, or heart symbols

Conditioning fades over time but may persist for weeks or months after repeated exposure.

Device Operating Duration

Each component can operate independently for approximately 12 hours before requiring recharging.

Combined operation improves power distribution:

  • One device: 12 hours

  • Two devices: 14 hours

  • Three devices: 16 hours

Full depletion requires specialized recharging equipment.

Circuit Overheating

Extended operation risks overheating.

After 15 continuous hours, any device operating beyond its standard safe period has a 20% chance of failure.

An additional failure check occurs every 15 minutes.

Possible results include:

  • Temporary shutdown

  • Loss of one control rank

  • Painful neural feedback

  • Uncontrolled emotional broadcasting

  • Electrical burns

  • Loss of a conditioned command

  • Complete equipment failure

Severe failure may briefly subject Aesa to fragments of the target’s fear, confusion, or emotional state.

Construction and Repair

Material Strength: Amazing

Repairing any Project Eros component requires:

  • Excellent Reason or higher

  • Advanced mechanical engineering

  • Advanced electronics or neurotechnology

  • Psionic-science knowledge

  • Specialized replacement components

Ordinary technicians cannot safely repair the equipment.

A failed repair may alter its mental frequency, injure Aesa, or cause unpredictable effects upon future targets.

Psionic Assault Blast

The full array can convert stored psionic energy into a directed mental attack.

Intensity: Good
Range: Approximately 100 yards

The attack may cause:

  • Mental pain

  • Disorientation

  • Temporary confusion

  • Loss of concentration

  • Brief sensory distortion

  • Unconsciousness in vulnerable targets

The blast affects Psyche rather than physical armor unless the armor provides psionic protection.

Psionic Energy Storage

The equipment can store psionic energy equal to:

Aesa’s Reason rank number × 10

Each blast consumes a portion of the stored reserve.

The energy gradually replenishes while the equipment is active and synchronized with Aesa, although heavy use may shorten operating time.

The energy is generated and regulated by the equipment. It is not an innate reserve within Aesa’s unassisted mind.

Costume

Aesa’s costume incorporates lightweight defensive materials and concealed circuitry.

Provides:

  • Poor physical protection

  • Poor toxin and toxic-environment protection

  • Typical radiation protection

The costume is designed primarily for elegance, concealment, mobility, and integration with the Project Eros array rather than combat.
