Anton Ostrovsky was born in 1975 in Moscow, during the final decades of the Soviet Union. He was the eldest son of Oskar Ostrovsky, the Soviet armored super-soldier known as Dospehi II. From birth, Anton lived beneath the shadow of the Dospehi legacy — a legacy of war, secrecy, state loyalty, scientific exploitation, and armored power.

​

As a child, Anton was raised in a household shaped by Soviet privilege and Soviet control. His father was treated as a Hero of the Soviet Union, but that honor came with a hidden cost. Oskar had once been imprisoned, studied, and forced into the Dospehi program because of his mutant physiology. Anton grew up hearing the official heroic version of his father’s service, but the darker truth remained buried beneath state myth and family silence.

​

When Anton entered military processing, Soviet medical evaluators discovered that he had inherited his father’s mutant physiology — and exceeded it. His dense skin, enhanced strength, stamina, speed, radiation resistance, and accelerated healing made him more powerful than Oskar had been. To Soviet loyalists, this made Anton the natural heir to the Dospehi name.

​

Then the Soviet Union collapsed.

​

In 1991, Oskar joined Generalissimus and the Red Guard during the failed coup against the Russian Federation. Oskar was betrayed, captured, removed from the Dospehi Mark III armor, and imprisoned. Anton’s mother and siblings were also arrested, but Anton escaped. At only sixteen years old, he found refuge among surviving Red Guard loyalists.

​

Generalissimus took personal interest in Anton. He trained him as a soldier, molded his ideology, and encouraged him to see himself as the rightful continuation of the Soviet armored legacy. Anton, young and furious over his family’s imprisonment, accepted Generalissimus as a patriotic mentor and father-figure beside Oskar’s memory.

​

Under Generalissimus’ direction, Anton led raids against Russian military sites to recover weapons, support systems, and eventually the Dospehi Mark III armor. Anton’s first major act as the emerging Dospehi heir was helping spearhead the prison break that freed his father, mother, siblings, and many captured Red Guard troops. Wearing the Mark III armor, Anton proved himself worthy of the Dospehi name before he had even officially inherited it.

​

The freed Red Guard fled to a hidden base in northern Greenland, established in an abandoned Cold War radar and listening post. There, Anton matured into a soldier, engineer, armored combat specialist, and true believer in the Soviet Guard’s cause. Generalissimus awarded him honor and status, while Oskar continued serving as Dospehi II despite his age and accumulating injuries.

​

During the Soltan Star Empire’s invasion of Earth in 2000, Anton and Oskar both fought in the Mark III armor at different times. Oskar remained the official Dospehi, but his injuries and age increasingly forced Anton to step into the role when needed. These battles proved Anton’s strength, endurance, and capability as the future armored champion of the Soviet Guard.

​

After the Soltans left Earth, the Red Guard spent years rebuilding. Anton used that time to develop the next generation of Dospehi armor: the Dospehi Mark IV. Drawing on stolen Western technology, recovered Soviet hardware, black-market systems, and Generalissimus’ hidden military stockpiles, Anton helped create a suit that was lighter, stronger, more efficient, and more advanced than any previous Dospehi armor.

​

By 2010, Generalissimus was ready to launch the invasion of Lithuania. He intended Anton to become the new Dospehi, but Oskar pleaded to wear the Mark III one last time. He wanted to stand at the beginning of what he believed would be the revolution that restored the Soviet Union. Generalissimus agreed and ordered Anton to remain in Greenland to finish the Mark IV armor and prepare to replace his father if necessary.

​

Anton never saw his father alive again.

​

The Lithuanian campaign collapsed after a resistance counteroffensive devastated Red Guard forces. Oskar died in the Mark III armor, holding the line while Generalissimus and surviving Soviet Guard personnel escaped by submarine. Anton was told that his father died heroically, saving the movement and preserving the future of the Soviet Union.

​

He was not told the full truth.

​

Anton does not know what Generalissimus said to Oskar in the final moments before the escape. He does not know whether his father’s sacrifice was honored, manipulated, or deliberately used as a disposable rear guard action. That hidden truth remains the most dangerous fracture in Anton’s loyalty.

​

After Oskar’s death, Anton formally accepted the Dospehi mantle. The damaged Mark III armor was eventually recovered, displayed, neglected, and then stolen back by Generalissimus’ agents, along with the Mark I and Mark II armors. In the Soviet Guard Hall of Heroes in Greenland, the three older Dospehi suits were restored for display as sacred relics of the armored legacy.

​

At that same ceremony, Anton Ostrovsky debuted as Dospehi III, wearing the newly completed Dospehi Mark IV armor.

​

To the Soviet Guard, Anton is the armored future of the movement — younger, stronger, smarter, and more capable than the men who wore the armor before him. He is a proud soldier, skilled engineer, husband, father, and ideological loyalist. He believes capitalism breeds corruption, weakness, and moral decay. He also recognizes that the West has power, technology, and organizational strengths worth studying and exploiting.

​

Anton is not a blind fanatic. He is worse: a disciplined believer with enough intelligence to adapt.

​

As Dospehi III, he serves as one of the Soviet Guard’s premier heavy combatants. He carries his father’s memory, the armored legacy of Ochenko and Oskar, and the future ambitions of Generalissimus. Yet beneath his loyalty sits a buried question:

What really happened in Lithuania?

​

If Anton ever learns that Generalissimus knowingly sacrificed his father, the Dospehi armor may no longer serve the Soviet Guard.

Dospehi Mark IV Armor

The Dospehi Mark IV armor is Anton Ostrovsky’s personal battlesuit and the most advanced Dospehi armor ever constructed. Unlike the earlier steel-heavy Mark I, Mark II, and Mark III suits, the Mark IV uses advanced composite materials, stolen Western technology, recovered Soviet engineering, black-market components, and Anton’s own mechanical refinements.

It is still a heavy armored system, but it is faster, cleaner, more efficient, and more combat-flexible than its predecessors.

LIMITATIONS

Heavy Armor Weight

Although far lighter than previous Dospehi suits, the Mark IV still weighs over 800 pounds, not including Anton.

  • Weight remains a factor in soft ground, weak floors, ice, mud, and unstable ruins.

  • The armor is easier to maneuver than earlier models but is still not a light or agile suit.

  • Anton’s enhanced physiology helps him compensate for the suit’s mass.

History

II History

Oskar Ostrovsky was born into the Soviet Union and came of age as a soldier during the Second World War. In 1944, while still a young enlisted man, he distinguished himself in repeated assaults against Nazi strongholds. Oskar showed unusual courage, battlefield discipline, and a disturbing ability to survive wounds that should have killed him.

​

After several successful attacks, he received a field promotion to lieutenant and was placed in command of infantry troops. His men suffered heavy casualties in brutal fighting, but Oskar repeatedly emerged from battle with little more than scratches. Soviet medics eventually discovered the truth: many of those “scratches” were bullet, shrapnel, and fragmentation impacts that had bounced off his skin rather than penetrated it.

​

Oskar was a mutant, or in Soviet terminology, a “unique.”

​

His skin looked and felt mostly human, but his body possessed extraordinary density, durability, heat resistance, stamina, pain tolerance, and regenerative ability. Oskar believed his condition might have been tied to family history. His grandfather had been exposed to mustard gas during World War I in an area later associated with an unknown mutagenic compound known as X-65. No other known member of his family displayed powers until Oskar.

​

The Soviet state did not reward him for this discovery. It arrested him.

​

Oskar was imprisoned, interrogated, and subjected to brutal medical testing. Soviet intelligence wanted to know if others like him existed. Oskar knew of none. For nearly a year, he was treated less like a decorated soldier and more like a state-owned specimen.

​

At the same time, Soviet engineers were attempting to recreate the lost Dospehi armor program. The original Dospehi Mark I had died with Ustev Ochenko in 1944, and its plans had been destroyed years earlier in the Siberian convoy disaster. By 1946, Soviet engineers produced the Dospehi Mark II, an ambitious but deeply flawed prototype.

​

The Mark II generated intense internal heat. Ordinary test pilots emerged burned, dehydrated, and physically wrecked even through protective bodysuits. The program was close to failure until a KGB officer connected Oskar’s enhanced physiology to the armor’s biggest weakness. Oskar was brought from prison, fitted into the suit, and forced to test it with an explosive failsafe attached in case he refused.

​

Oskar did not refuse.

​

Despite his mistreatment, he still considered himself a soldier of the Soviet Union. He operated the Mark II longer than any normal pilot could have survived. His dense skin, resistance to heat, pain tolerance, stamina, and healing factor made him the only viable operator for the armor. The project seemed saved — until Joseph Stalin learned that the suit’s success depended on one mutant man rather than Soviet engineering.

​

Stalin was enraged. He ordered Oskar returned to imprisonment and demanded the engineers solve the heat problem so “real” Soviet soldiers could wear the armor. The Mark II program collapsed soon after, with many engineers imprisoned, executed, or sent away to die.

Oskar remained in captivity until after Stalin’s death.

​

In 1953, surviving Dospehi engineers were released and reassembled. Oskar was also freed. Though weakened and emaciated from imprisonment, his mutant physiology allowed him to recover with remarkable speed. Within months, the engineers upgraded the failed Mark II prototype into the Dospehi Mark III — a heavier, stronger, more durable Cold War super-tank armor.

​

The Mark III still ran dangerously hot, but Oskar could endure it. Where the Mark II had been a failed prototype, the Mark III became a functioning Soviet super-weapon.

​

Oskar Ostrovsky became Dospehi II.

​

For decades, he served as a military weapon, political symbol, and deterrent asset for the Soviet Union. He was deployed during Cold War conflicts, border crises, uprisings, covert operations, military demonstrations, and intimidation campaigns. To Soviet citizens and loyalists, he was a Hero of the Soviet Union. To the West and Soviet-opposed nations, he was a terrifying armored enforcer.

​

Oskar was given privileges, a home, a wife, and the state-approved comforts of a Soviet hero. He raised a family and remained loyal to the Soviet ideal despite having been tortured and imprisoned by the very state he served. His eldest son, Anton Ostrovsky, eventually inherited similar powers at an even greater level.

​

When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991, Oskar was discarded. The Dospehi program was dissolved, his support structure vanished, and the state he had served no longer existed. Rather than disappear, Oskar joined Generalissimus and the Red Guard, a militant ex-Soviet movement dedicated to restoring Soviet power.

​

During the failed coup against the Russian Federation government, Oskar was betrayed and trapped. He was ordered to stand down and report to an underground location, where he was gassed, removed from the Mark III armor, and arrested for treason. His wife and family were also imprisoned, though Anton escaped capture.

​

Months later, Anton — wearing the Mark III armor — helped spearhead a massive Red Guard prison break that freed Oskar, his family, and many imprisoned Red Guard personnel. They fled to a secret base in northern Greenland, where Generalissimus rebuilt his army in exile.

​

During the Soltan Star Empire’s invasion of Earth in 2000, Oskar still wore the Mark III in battle. The Red Guard’s clashes with the Soltans were costly, and Oskar suffered injuries that compounded decades of battlefield damage. At times, Anton had to wear the Mark III armor while his father recovered. By the end of the Soltan conflict, it was clear to nearly everyone that Oskar’s time as Dospehi was nearing its end.

​

In 2010, Generalissimus prepared the Red Guard’s invasion of Lithuania. He intended Anton to become the new Dospehi, but Oskar pleaded to wear the armor one final time. He wanted to stand at the beginning of what he believed would be the revolution that restored the Soviet Union.

​

Generalissimus agreed.

​

The invasion initially succeeded, but the occupation turned brutal. Red Guard forces mistreated Lithuanian civilians, and Oskar objected. He still believed in Soviet unity and ideological brotherhood, not cruelty toward people he believed should become “comrades.” His protest put him at odds with the Red Guard’s harsher commanders and revealed the divide between Oskar’s idealized Soviet loyalty and Generalissimus’ ruthless agenda.

​

When the Lithuanian resistance and foreign irregular allies counterattacked, the Red Guard collapsed. Generalissimus attempted to escape by submarine with surviving personnel and stolen nuclear torpedoes. As resistance fighters closed in on the submarine pen, he ordered Oskar to stop them at all costs.

​

Oskar obeyed.

​

On 19 August 2010, Oskar Ostrovsky died in battle as Dospehi II, holding the line long enough for Generalissimus and the remaining Soviet Guard forces to escape. To the Soviet Guard, he died as a Hero of the Soviet Union. To Lithuania and the West, he died as an armored terrorist defending a retreat. The truth is more tragic: he was a loyal soldier used as a disposable shield by the man he trusted.

​

His son Anton never heard the full exchange that led to Oskar’s death. That hidden truth remains one of the most dangerous unresolved fractures in the Dospehi legacy.

I History

Ustev Ochenko was a decorated Soviet Red Army tank officer selected personally by Joseph Stalin to serve as the first pilot of the experimental Dospehi Mark I Battle Armor, originally nicknamed “The Human Tank.” The armor had been created in 1939 by engineers at S.M. Kirov Factory No. 185 as a secret Soviet attempt to develop a walking armored weapon capable of breaking enemy lines, resisting heavy fire, and serving as a battlefield symbol of Soviet military power.

​

When Stalin demanded that the Dospehi program be moved to a secret Siberian facility, Ochenko and the project team were sent with the prototype armor, design records, and support equipment. During the journey, the convoy was caught in a severe Siberian blizzard. Most of the trucks plunged into a mountain valley and exploded, destroying nearly all blueprints, engineering notes, equipment, and personnel. Only Ochenko, a driver, the lead engineers in the final truck, and the original Dospehi armor survived.

​

With the armor’s plans lost, Stalin ordered Ochenko and the surviving technical staff to recreate the project from memory. The task proved nearly impossible. Under brutal pressure from Stalin, Ochenko oversaw the remaining team while engineers were executed for failing to produce results. Eventually, Stalin abandoned hopes of mass-producing the armor and instead ordered the sole surviving Mark I suit to be field-tested in combat.

​

Ochenko first wore the Dospehi Mark I during Soviet operations against Finland in 1940. Though crude, slow, and mechanically temperamental, the armor was devastating. It could smash through fortifications, withstand punishment that would destroy ordinary soldiers, and bring artillery-level firepower directly into enemy lines. To Soviet troops, Dospehi became a moving fortress. To enemy forces, it became a nightmare rumor of a steel Soviet giant advancing through smoke, fire, and snow.

​

Throughout World War II, Ochenko served across the Eastern Front, using the Dospehi armor against Nazi troops, tanks, bunkers, and fortified positions. Though the suit’s limited battery life, heat buildup, poor mobility, and constant maintenance needs made it difficult to operate, Ochenko proved disciplined and tactically skilled enough to turn the flawed machine into a battlefield terror.

​

By 1944, Ochenko had risen to the rank of colonel and had become a decorated Soviet war hero. His armor was feared enough that some German units reportedly surrendered rather than face Dospehi in close combat. Ochenko’s reputation grew alongside the Soviet counteroffensives, and he became a symbol of Soviet retaliation against the German invasion.

​

On 22 June 1944, during Operation Bagration, Ochenko led Soviet tanks and infantry across Belarus in a massive offensive against German Army Group Centre. During a night assault, he attempted to break through a section of the Nazi battlefront but charged into an incendiary trap prepared by retreating German forces. The flames reached extreme temperatures, overwhelming the Mark I armor’s limited thermal protection.

​

Ochenko was incinerated inside the suit.

​

After the battle, his remains were recovered from the ruined armor. He was given a hero’s funeral, and the damaged Dospehi Mark I was returned to Moscow as a war relic. Publicly, Ustev Ochenko was remembered as the first Dospehi, a Soviet hero who died inside the armor that made him legendary. Privately, his story also remained a grim reminder of Stalin’s obsession, the cruelty behind Soviet weapons programs, and the terrible human cost hidden beneath state-manufactured heroism.

DOSPEHI ARMORED CONVEYOR

Because the Mark I armor was extremely slow on foot, Ochenko was often transported into battle using a specialized Dospehi Armored Conveyor.

The Conveyor was an open-topped mini-tank platform designed to move Dospehi across battlefield terrain, conserve suit battery power, and allow Ochenko to enter combat with weapons ready.

General Description
