History

History

Sea Devil is a DNA mash-up of humans, Ningren and several types of deep seawater fish, created by the mad scientist and ruler of the Atlantic Kingdom, King Dolphin.

​

In an attempt to create a resilient 'hunter of the dark depths' type of creature, Dolphin combined DNAs of  humans, Ningren, Viperfish, Angler, Dragon Fish, Giant Squid, Vampire Squid and a Gulper Eel to form a powerful and highly aggressive creature. 

 

Although controlled by King Dolphin, Sea Devil has, at times, slipped away from his influence.  Interestingly, the creature seemed to have increased in size and stock at one point before it went missing for a week only to return fit and in shape again. Regardless, it is still dependent and loyal to King Dolphin and is a savage fighter when ordered to be so.  Nearly all Ningren citizens of slaves of of the Atlantic Kingdom truly fear Sea Devil, wherein which he got his name from the Ningren calling him just that - a 'Sea Devil'.

 

Today, Sea Devil is a member of the Atlantic Kingdom's Atlantic Guard.  It believes it is a true warrior fighting to prevent the surface world/humans from abducting its fellow Atlantean citizens and killing them for experiments in human labs.  As such, it fights with a survivalist ferocity that has rendered several superheroes in the hospital in critical conditions dozens of times of the past decade or so.

Power Origin: Science (with a bit of mutation involved)

 

INNATE POWERS:

  • Strength and Endurance

    • Has remarkable strength in water and incredible strength above water

    • Its endurance is incredible in water and amazing above water, thus requiring little to no sleep in a 24 hour period

​

  • Scale Armor Hide

    • Its scales provide remarkable protection from physical, toxin/toxic and psychic attacks.

    • Provides incredible protection versus radiation, the frigid cold of the deep depths of the ocean and that of the air above water

    • Provides only typical protection verses heat or thermal attacks

​

  • Dark Energy/Plasmatic Discharge

    • Can emit dark plasmatic energy discharges from its hands at a maximum of good energy or negative energy damage at a range of 100 feet

    • Can emit an ink-like discharge that can drop visibility to zero in less than 6 seconds, covering a 25 square foot area per several seconds; if in water, it covers over 50 square feet in the same time frame, all at a maximum range of 200 feet

    • Can use the dark energy to snare, immobilize and/or slow a target with the equivocal of good strength or holding

  • Hyper-Swimming

    • Can swim in excess of 70 knots in water

    • Can run in excess of 45 mph on land

​

  • Camouflage

    • Its skin (and armored suit by proxy) allow for a remarkable 'blending' of ambient light and colors to effect a chameleon-like change all over his body, thus providing a reduced detection by over 75% and only for those actively searching/looking for it.

  • In-Water Hunting/Tracking Abilities

    • While in water, it has hyper-sensitivity to smell, water movement, changes in salinity, pressure changes and of course sounds with an amazing ability

    • It has an innate active and passive sonar system that allows it to 'hear' with incredible accuracy and ability using its excellent quality sonar that, depending on water depth, salinity and density, can, on the average be used outward (and bounced back) from over 2 miles away.

  • Antennae Lights

    • Like with most Ningren, the tips of its antennae provide a poor level of lighting up demand.

​

  • Prehensile Tail

    • Can hold and grab things with excellent strength and is equally protected with the Scale Armor Hide (see above)

 

  • Wings

    • Can be used in water to increase acrobatic movements in combat, evasions and maneuverability at a remarkable level

    • Can be used above water to actually fly up to 100 mph at a maximum of 2,000 feet ASL.

    • Can be retracted and flatten across its back

    • Same Scale Armor Hide protection (as listed above)
