MAJOR DEEJ UNIVERSE

Patrick Henry Brown was born in 1923.  He was a die-hard American patriot and a star athlete and in track and field, well on his way to the Olympics, that is, until the United States was drawn into World War II.

 

In 1941, Patrick graduated high school and in the Fall of 1941 was attending Harvard University on an athletics scholarship.  That same Fall, following his own patriotic fervor, he signed up with the American Defense-Harvard Group that was created to help aid Great Britain and other allied European nations that were already embroiled in World War II with Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy. Harvard President James Bryant Conant encouraged his students and staff to 'help anyway they could', and as such, Patrick volunteered to field test several incredible scientific and technical marvels that the students of Harvard had created in hopes of using to help stop the Nazis.  One such item was a 'kinetic amplifier', a device that when strapped to a person, amplified the kinetic energy produced by that person, compounding exerted energy at incredible rates.  Sadly, most students, not having the endurance to cope with using such a device, usually wore themselves out in seconds, leaving some famished even with weight loss.  Patrick volunteered to test the kinetic amplified device and not only was able to use it to amplify his actions, he used it to run up to 90 mph! In doing so, he was the first to actually create a 'kinetic field' around himself that also protected him from the wind effects or any damaging physical effects of using the amplifier, so long as the amplifier was charge and Patrick was wearing it.  Of course, after each test, Patrick ate like a starving man, but then again, he'd always eaten like that before he came to Harvard, so it was almost a reflex behavior for Patrick to 'recharge' with a few thousand calories and carbs.

His actions provided some of the most unique testing to ever be done.  No other student who tested the kinetic amplifier could even come close to Patrick's ability to control and utilize the kinetic energies and field.  By 1 December 1941, Patrick has already caught the attention of several 'special government agents' who were watching his efforts.

​

A week later, the Japanese did a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on 7 December 1941, drawing the United States immediately into World War II.  The first thing Patrick wanted to do was immediately enlist, but one of the 'special government agents' watching him instead steered him to their car and took him to Washington D.C. to meet his brother, John Brown, the man know today in the 21st century as "Major Invader".

 

Patrick's brother, John Brown, was a recently promoted Captain in the US Marines Special Forces that had been performing classified 'special operations' in China, Korea, Britain, Germany and Japan for the past 3 years for what would soon become known as the US Office of Strategic Services (OSS) up until the Japanese sneak attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941.

 

When Patrick arrived and met his brother (it'd been the first time they'd seen each other in over 2 years), he was informed of the value of the 'kinetic amplifier' that was being built and tested at Harvard University and that they, the soon-to-be OSS, wanted to recruit Patrick into a new special 'unique abilities' unit that was being created for his brother, Captain John Brown, to lead.

It didn't take Patrick but a second to respond with an enthusiastic "YES!".

​

Patrick's Brother, John, was a bit more concerned with Patrick's 'jocularity' and past experiences of Patrick not listening to John when he told him to do things, mostly in regard for Patrick's safety, but with war not upon them, they both knew they had to be better men and work through any issues they might have as brothers.

​

Over the next month, Patrick mastered the use of the kinetic amplifier and quickly became known as the "Kinetic Kid" by the science team. After the equipment field team was assembled and three prototype units were made, Patrick and the team joined John Brown at a special training camp where Patrick learned, the hard way, about military discipline and teamwork.

 

Patrick was considered a 'risk' at the end of the team training by the evaluators (and even his own brother, John), however, the generals involved demanded they 'work it out' in the field.

 

Over the next two years, Patrick, wearing a costume and going by his 'keen' name of "Kinetic Avenger", fought with the Allied Fighters under his brother's leadership.  The two fought in the field, as brothers do, however, when the chips were down, Patrick always did the bravest and most heroic actions in the unit. Much to the world's chagrin, that all ended on the 2nd of September, 1943.

As part of the Allied Invasion of Italy, a special pre-invasion 'smokescreen' unit was created of nearly a dozen Allied Fighters to confuse inland Nazi units and convince the Nazi Panzer divisions to remain inland in Bagnara (some 40km north of the planned Allied Invasion spot in Calabria, Italy) so as to allow the troops to land safely on the Calbria, Italy beach. Captain John Brown (by this time known as "Captain Invader") led his Allied Fighters ashore.  Sadly, due to bad intel provided to Captain Invader by British General Montgomery, the beaches had been mined the night before.  When Patrick (AKA Kinetic Avenger) went to scout ahead at his brother's orders, Patrick tripped off a land mine, causing him to 'pinball' between over three dozen other land mines that he and his kinetic field set off.  This created a massive explosive display...one which left only pieces of Patrick's kinetic amplifier machine and bloodied parts of Patrick's uniform and goggles.

​

John Brown was almost catatonic over his brother's death.  Luckily, the local Nazis suspected stray dogs as the ones that set off the mines. After a few minutes and some impressive stealthy maneuvers, the Allied Fighters team was eventually able to get the mission done, but John Brown was never the same man after the loss of his brother.  He was more focused, vicious and demanding than ever before.  As such, those traits led the Allied Fighters to victory after victory for the rest of the war, making them some of the most notable heroes of World War II.

A memorial was created and placed in Harvard Square of Patrick in his Kinetic Avenger costume shortly after the end of World War II. Up until recently, athletes, just before a major competition, would rub the statue's feet for luck in their hopeful forthcoming athletic victory.

​

Several decades later, a strange event occurred.

​

Recently, a bloodied, near dead young man appeared out of nowhere in an massive explosive blast on the beach in front of a Mediterranean resort in Italy.

​

It was Patrick Henry Brown. 

 

Patrick appeared to be the same age as when he'd 'died' back in 1943, however, he was a bloodied, barely breathing mess of a man, but nonetheless a man very much ALIVE.

​

Word got out in the news about the 'strange event' and the bloodied man. Newscasts reached Sicily, Crete and other Mediterranean nations and ports.  One particular being immediately recognized the near-dead man as Patrick Brown.

 

That 'being' was a Minotaur from Crete (who'd turned into a TV-junkie over the last decade) that would later be known as the "Gold Minotaur".

 

The Minotaur contacted John Brown and told him to come pick up a 'very special person' he'd found.

 

75 years and 10 hours since Patrick's 'death' in 1943, both John and Patrick Brown were reunited as brothers once again.

 

Weeks later, miraculously, Patrick's wounds had all healed.  Patrick exhibited an even more powerful form of the kinetic amplifier powers but with one huge difference - Patrick no longer needed a device to manifest the kinetic amplifier or field; the powers were now infused into Patrick's body.

If was later deduced that the series of land mine explosions, coupled with the hyper-overloading of Patrick's kinetic amplifier machine and field created a 'worm hole' in time, dumping Patrick out at the exact same location he was blown up at, but 75 years to the second later.

 

After 'adjusting' and catching up a bit on what was now the 21st century, Patrick quickly discovered that the Allied Fighters' old nemesis, Baron Berlin, was alive and just as dangerous as he was during World War II. Patrick immediately volunteered to get back into his brother's latest rendition of the Allied Fighters, but Patrick's near centennial-aged brother was not willing to put Patrick back into harm's way ever again.  He instead told Patrick that Patrick had already done his bit for duty and country and had already paid the ultimate sacrifice; it was instead time for Patrick to live a life of freedom free of  combat and danger.

​

Patrick admonished his brother John for saying such a thing.

​

The two brothers then fought for days until finally a compromise was met.  Patrick agreed to be relegated to the "Zeta" (Training) Squad until he was deemed 'good enough' by the Zeta Squad Leader to rejoin one of the other Allied Fighter combat units as a full member, and as such, John Brown would not fight the decisions made therein, whether good or bad. Nonetheless to say, John "Major Invader" Brown continues to fear for his brother's new lease on life.

Today, the "Kinetic Avenger" is back in action and is currently 'training' with the Allied Fighters' Zeta Squad.
