Goldfang is a Chinese-Japanese mutant capable of mongoloid-levels of strength complete with a biological or possibly magical connection with dark energy.

In 1999, it was discovered that China was performing unethical experimentation on abandoned children and orphans. In 2000, the Soltan Star Empire invaded Earth, interrupting any and all international efforts to resolve the situation. By the time the United Nations got back to looking into this matter in 2001, it seemed that all test subjects were either ordered to be euthanized by the Chinese or killed by the Soltans.

Experiment #81-1101, however, survived.

Not only did Experiment #81-1101 survive, he destroyed and escaped from the lab he was assigned to in Jaipai, China, killing over 12 scientists and facility personnel in the process...all as a 2 to 3-year old empowered with remarkable strength.

A few years ago, #81-1101 was identified by the CIA. He was now being called 'Goldfang' by his new 'family' and/or employers, the Golden Dragons criminal empire out of Hong Kong. Although several attempts were made by the CIA, GUARD and heroes to extract and/or defeat Goldfang from the Golden Dragons, Goldfang instead killed or mutilated the CIA, GUARD and even two superheroes in response.  It seems the Golden Dragons was now in control of Experiment #81-1101 AKA Goldfang.

Today, Goldfang still works for the Golden Dragons.  He talks very little, is menacing and definitely like to use brawn and his sword to resolve anything he doesn't like.  He is 100% devoted (controlled?) by the Golden Dragons and is definitely not the brightest bulb in the package.  He seems to have a desire to protect fellow teammate Gilded Dragon, however, Gilded Dragon seems irritated more than friendly towards Goldfang in response.  Goldfang has no problem killing others. He is not known to operate independently, but if he does, it is with specific instructions and/or a handler somewhere nearby.  An interesting thing is that he doesn't understand the concept of money, but instead identifies that the more money the Golden Dragons has, the better off he and his 'friends' in the Golden Dragons are.  Also, he hates superhero do-gooders.
