Recruited into a warlord's army at age 5, Jesus Mobalu quickly became a desensitized murderer and killer. Rather than be content with being a big man in a warlord's army, Jesus learned how to be the best marksman and eventually one of the warlord's best snipers.  As a result, by the time he was 15, he was one of the warlord's elite.   When the warlord decided to 'sell' his regional control for $10 million, Jesus killed the warlord  for 'not meeting the warlord's code'. The rest of the warlord army went after Jesus.  In less than an hour, he killed all 60 of them.

With nothing left but death and broken faith, Jesus left Liberia and started working for mercenary units in other African nations.  His 'kill squads' garnered military, United Nations troops and even a superhero's attention.  Jesus and his kill squads decimated the military and U.N. troops and after an intense battle, Jesus killed one of the few African superheroes in existence at that time.

Intrigued by the challenge of fighting those forces (and the superhero), Jesus offered himself to the 'big leagues'. After a few years of doing contract killing, he demanded a superhero kill contract, to which NO mercenary or assassin, at that time, dared to even attempt.

That's when Jesus met death...Deathmaster, that is.

​

Deathmaster was the leader of a old, reformed assassin guild known as "Death Legion".  Deathmaster had a 'mark' (assassination order) on a B-listed superhero in Chicago and offered the job to Jesus. After some discussion, Deathmaster offered up some 'necessary equipment' Jesus would need to take out the hero.  Impressed with the equipment, Jesus went off to perform the job under the code-name "Bobcat".  It didn't take but 2 days to find and kill the hero.  Jesus wanted more.

Even though Deathmaster offered Jesus a 'position' amongst the Death Legion assassins, Jesus was not willing to loose his freedom.  His next mark was for the vaunted hero, Major Deej.  It didn't take but 2 minutes for Major Deej to send 'Bobcat' to the hospital, where Jesus hovered in and out of death for the next 3 days in the hospital's ICU.  Eventually, Jesus became stable, but the damage to Jesus was extreme. He'd lost the ability to walk, his spine was fractured, he had severe concussions, a broken jaw and his hands were broken to the point he couldn't even hold a spork.  Jesus, in that state, would never again be the man he once was.

That's when he was approached by Zenith Labs.

​

Zenith Labs offered an opportunity to not only 'fix' Jesus, but to also 'enhance' Jesus...so long as he worked for Zenith Labs for a bit to help 'pay off' his massive medical bill needed to get himself fixed and enhanced.

​

Jesus agreed to Zenith Labs' offer and after 2 months of experiments, dozens of surgeries and countless tests, Jesus was a new man - a man enhanced by science.

​

With environmental awareness, enhance senses, physical abilities and passive bio-sympathetic healing, Jesus became a hunter to a new degree.  When Zenith Labs usually does these enhancements, it takes an average of 3-4 years to work jobs Zenith gives you to pay them back...Jesus worked off his debt in less than 8 months.

​

Realizing even though he was enhanced, Jesus knew he needed a link to the assassin's world if he was ever going to get further.  As such, he contacted Deathmaster again and this time, joined Death Legion.

​

Today, 'Black Leopard' (Grey Leopard was initially his new code-name, but the first time someone made a joke about him being 'old and grey' (and killing said jokester), Jesus took on the new name 'Black' Leopard instead) continues to work diligently amassing a massive kill list and earning millions each year, allowing him to live in the life of pure luxury.  He's even getting paid to be an instructor for Death Legion's assassins, teaching them to be better.  Jesus has recently started taking 'superhero marks' again, and as such, several heroes have died by Black Leopard's bullets.  His old nemesis, Major Deej, however, will have to wait for Black Leopard's assassin bullet; according to Jesus, he's got 'plans' for Major Deej; plans set for later vice sooner....
